Baptism
"Do you know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:3-4)
The water of baptism symbolizes the washing away of sins and represents a commitment to Jesus Christ. John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ in the River of Jordan at the beginning of his ministry.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a mature commitment to Christ and reaffirmation of the renunciation of evil. Candidates for confirmation have been baptized. Candidates and the congregation are lead by the bishop in the renewal of the Baptismal Convenant when the confirmation candidate renews their commitment to Jesus Christ.
Marriage
Holy Matrimony is a covenant or a binding agreement between two people before God. This occurs physically and spiritually. It mirrors Christ's relationship to the church and God's relationship with his people
Healing of the Sick
Healing of the Sick is "the rite of anointing the sick with oil, or the laying on the hands, by which God's grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body" (Book of Common Prayer, p.861).
